House in Rye

Set on a prime example of 1960s beige brick seaside units is an extension proposal that hails from the future. Wrapped up in the geometric complexity of angular façade articulation, this timber-clad proposal adds more living space to the upstairs of the front two units. The spaces look out over Port Phillip Bay to the north and preserve the existing condition of the downstairs unit. Geometrically, this proposal's side elevations challenge the existing's regularity and breathe some fresh air into the site.
